Election in Batticaloa

[Alaya]

TMVP under the leadership of Pillayan wins 8 local government bodies out of 9 in the Batticaloa district election which was held yesterday. UPFA was able to take Batticaloa Municipal Council into their control of the election.

56% of voters have used their franchise in the election which was held after 14 years of lapse. The whole election process was fair and peaceful, PAFFREL Directer Kingsley Rodrigo revealed.
