Maybe you have dragged "CSE" from somewhere I understood that as a Software Engineering degree. (not a Computer Science and Engineering) I don't know about CSE and all I meant about Software Engineering.

As per my understanding, Not any Software Engineering degrees belong to those categories. Softwares. Computer means both hardware and software. Not ONLY about software.

Companies using this "Engineer" term to trick candidates. I have seen some people resigned from high salary Web Developer jobs to join "Software Engineer jobs" but low salary and only bug fixing. They can say others I am an "Engineer". That is the only plus point.

I've seen people working in the software industry who has mathematics/statistics related masters or phd too. Things can be massively different from a person to person in the software industry. I've seen some people starting their career with 30K some are starting their first job with 180K salary.

Software also are being written by a variety of people. They says "any idiot can code". Some tasks demand a lot from the code writer and requires an "engineering approach" while some don't.
