anyway I cant give you an exact answer.both are equally good.but if I were given a choice I would choose CS :yes:

Mainly its gives you a better knowledge than programming and I have seen CS people who got better career than a SE people.but it depends on you.Think and decide.Good luck!!

People dont know about B.Eng ...
Project managers and recruitment managers still love BSC and B.Tech guys..

many uk university's have 3 year B.Eng degrees ... Many sri lankan privet institutes offer those 3 year degrees

IESL people hate 3 year degree people !!

IESL is not considering 3 year + 1 year as 4 year ...still there is a problem ..

If you are not agree with me just call northshore , ICBT or CINEC...

3 year people need a system to get IESL...

thats the real situation....

In UK after completing a 3 year degree you can always do the 4th year as a MEng.its not a masters.its too an Undergraduate degree.its the 4th year.go and ask IESL, they consider it as a 4 year degree. :yes:

but yeah if you complete only 3 year degree you can't get IESL.but you can always do the 4th year as MEng and get the IESL.but I don't know what if you do a 1 year MSc :no:

Yeah I know Northshore,ICBT and CINEC. You better ask Northshore they promote 4 year degree.yeah one can complete the BEng in 3 years.but in Northshore they ask you to complete the 4th year as people can get IESL :yes:

In CINEC yeah they don't promote the 4th year but it is available there :yes:

He or She can always do the MEng and complete the 4 year degree requirement if they want to. :yes:

but yeah if you do in ICBT there isn't a way to complete the 4th year in Sri Lanka. :dull:

but after completing the 3rd year one can go to the UK university and complete the 4th year.As you know bro in ICBT case it is University of Sunderland.

but for one who did a degree in ICBT, it is expensive to go to UK. :sorry:

As I stated in the thread yeah in Sri Lanka BEng is not popular.it is mainly because gov universities give BSc degrees.but I talked about the situation in the world.not only about Sri Lanka.btw after completing reputed BEng degree I think one wouldn't want to work in Sri Lanka for so long. :rolleyes:

In ICBT case Sunderland is low ranked university so one wouldn't get the same recognition as Wolverhampton which CINEC provide and University of West of the England(UWE) which Northshore provide.It is the best UK university operated in Sri Lanka.(UWE)(in undergraduate level) :yes:

Nothing to worry about it bro.. CS degrees are not Engineering degrees.So you don't need to get IESL. Therefore you don't need a 4 year degree.In Engineering 4 year degrees are much better recognized.I mean after completing the 3rd year its better to complete the 4th year too in if you are doing a UK degree.but It doesn't mean everyone should do 4 year degree in other fields too :no:

Though some universities in the world provide CS under Engineering faculty it is still considered under the IT field.So you don't need to worry about Engineering matters to your CS degree.Most of the UK CS degrees are 3 years.they are well recognized in the world.NO doubt about it. :yes:

adding to that I have to mention that Northshore college provide the best UK Uni operated in SL. So its worth doing it. :yes:

In short if you love CS you are all good to go for a 3 year degree. :yes:

if you need to get a job in SL. you better have a Bsc Eng degree from SL Gov universities. companies will not recruit BEng guys in SL. 1st priority to Bsc Eng.
