its not a big problem, she can take the next flight by paying a small extra fee unless all the next flights are full then she have to wait.

Usually pilots wait 5 minutes,right?Once I had 5 passengers missing and since pilot knew he could land on time,he delayed 15 minutes.Guy landed 20 minutes earlier too.

Once a flight had to wait 20mins till we came.. that was really weird.. it was Thai Airways..
