Microsoft announces offline mode for Windows 10 games, available right now

Microsoft has just announced that an offline mode is available right now for its Windows 10 games. According to the publisher, most games available in the Store support offline play, however players are asked to check the details of their games to make sure theirs are supported.

Players will be able to sync their offline achievements and offline save files the next time they sign in to Xbox Live. Regarding offline save files, players will have to connect to Xbox Live to sync their most recent game save to the cloud before you going offline.

Players will be able to change their designated offline device three times per year.

The bad news here is that you’ll have to do A LOT OF THINGS in order to enable the offline mode. Moreover, this offline mode must be enabled for every single game you want to play offline (in other words, there is no universal button in order to enter an offline mode).

In order to set your device as your designated offline device, you’ll have to follow this guide.

    1. Make sure that you’re online.
    2. Check that your device has the latest Windows updates: Go to Start > Settings > Update & security > Windows Update and see if any relevant updates are available.
    3. Open the Store. You’ll be prompted to sign in if you haven’t already.
    4. Select the Me icon (this is your profile picture).
    5. Select Settings, and then under Offline Permissions, make sure that the toggle is set to On.
Once your device is set up, you’ll need to launch each game you want to play offline while signed in to Xbox Live. You only need to do this once per game, and you’ll need to do this even if you’ve already launched the game on your device.

Players then will have to make sure that they’re online, that their device is set as their designated offline device., and launch the game they want to play offline. When prompted, players will have to sign in to Xbox Live with their account, start playing the game, and then exit at any time.Do note that you’ll have to do this process for every game you want to play offline.

Once completed, you can go offline at any time and launch your games whenever you want to play them, without needing to sign in online each time.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered spotted on Microsoft’s Store, may hint at a standalone version

    QaGkdFO.jpg

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare released in a few days and as you already know, it comes with a remastered version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. As we’ve already said, this remastered version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will most probably get a standalone version, and this is further hinted by a product page on Microsoft’s Windows Store.

Although nothing has been confirmed yet – and even though its description reads that this game comes with the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Digital Legacy and Digital Deluxe Editions, its separate product page most probably hints at a possible standalone version.Activision has not stated anything yet about a possible standalone version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered.

This isn’t the first time that a standalone version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered has been hinted. Back in September, Raven’s David Pellas also hinted at a standalone version of it.

EA bans out of nowhere an entire country from Origin, without offering refunds or compensations

    evC8xk9.jpg

It appears that EA has just banned an entire country from Origin. According to reports, PC gamers located in Myanmar cannot access their games or login to their accounts, and cannot use EA’s Origin client at all.

PC gamers in Myanmar are welcomed with an “Access Denied” message and it’s been reported that Origin is no longer available in Myanmar. However, all those gamers that have already bought their have not been refunded in any way. Instead, EA simply terminated its Origin services in that country, without giving a damn about those affected by it.

From what we’ve gathered, EA is not offering Origin in Myanmar anymore due to the US sanctions against Myanmar. It’s worth noting that the sanctions were lifted on October 7th, however the service is still unavailable in Myanmar.

It’s also worth noting that Steam, GOG, and every single other content distribution network is said to be working fine in Myanmar.Naturally, gamers located in Myanmar can use a VPN in order to access their accounts and games.

This issue perfectly demonstrates the dangers of digital/current games. It further proves that gamers do not really own their games, but rather a license to play them. Ironically, the only way to actually play your legitimate copies – in case something like that happens in your country – is by using… you guessed it… cracks. And that’s really a sad thing to say.

We hope that EA will resolve this issue as soon as possible, or at least offer a refund to everyone affected by this!
