Space Hulk: Deathwing delayed to December 14th

Focus Home Interactive has announced that Space Hulk: Deathwing, the FPS of Streum On studio set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, has been slightly delayed. According to the publisher, the development team is currently working relentlessly to address the technical points raised during the game’s technical beta testing.

Most issues have already been addressed, including drastic improvement in loading times, optimisation of general performance, improvement of interface and menu elements, sound-design changes including character voices, and fix of numerous bugs and nearly all occurrences of crashes.

In order to offer the best possible experience at launch, Focus Home Interactive has decided to postpone a few days the release of Space Hulk: Deathwing to allow Streum On Studio to work on the final adjustments and optimisation. As a result, the game will release on December 14th.

Bethesda has removed the Denuvo anti-tamper tech from DOOM

    18y4KTc.jpg

It appears that Bethesda and id Software have removed Denuvo from DOOM. While id Software did not state anything at all in the release notes of the latest update for DOOM, Denuvo is no longer present in the latest version of id Software’s shooter. This is the second game for which Denuvo has been completely removed. The first one was Playdead’s Inside.

Bethesda and id Software have not commented on this yet, and have not revealed the reasons why this anti-tamper tech has been removed. However, it appears that Denuvo’s removal was due to both DOOM and Inside being cracked in such a relatively short amount of time.

According to a Redditor, who claims to be a game developer for a company that started using Denuvo, publishers do not have to pay for Denuvo (and claim a refund) if their games are cracked within a certain time. Moreover, and in order to claim the refund, publishers must remove Denuvo from their games
    .
    As the Redditor claimed:
“I work for a large studio that started using Denuvo recently. I’m neutral on piracy and pirate TV shows a lot, so don’t give me a hard time, certainly not here to judge.

I do want to explain what happened here, Denuvo Software Solutions offers a guarantee, if your Denuvo game is cracked within a certain time (3 months is normal), you do not have to pay for Denuvo. Part of claiming the refund is you must remove Denuvo from your game.”
As always, take with this with a grain of salt, however this logic does seem to apply to both DOOM and Inside.

Tom Clancy’s The Division will receive official DirectX 12 support next week

As you may already know, Ubisoft experimented with a DX12 renderer in the PTS build of Tom Clancy’s The Division. However, PC gamers were disappointed when they found out that this renderer was not included in the previous PC patch for The Division. Well, good news everyone as official DX12 support will be coming to The Division next week.

This upcoming PC patch will be released next week that will add official DX12 support. In addition, this patch will lower performance impact with high CPU usage, will fix the issue that caused the loss of character controls and will fix issues with controllers on PC.

    As Ubisoft claimed:
“This patch will also activate DirectX12 which should provide better optimization for higher resolutions. Please note that there is a known issue with DirectX12 where you are not able to change the brightness. “
According to early reports, the game’s DX12 renderer was running as good as its DX11 renderer (at least in the PTS build). Therefore, it will be interesting to see whether Ubisoft has made any additional improvements to it.
