E7200 does overclock past 3.6GHz, but only if you are lucky. There are people I know from other forums that can't do even 3.5GHz with 1.4V. People say the newer E7200s do not overclock as much as the first models.
And also, remember, I'm running the CPU at a high voltage. It is risky to go over 1.4V for a 45nm CPU. I'm running at 1.392V in CPU-Z at idle. (It is lower under load, but...) And an E7200 really needs juice after about 3GHz. Also the E7200 heats up a lot! A lot more than the E8xxx series models. That's because,
1. die is not welded to the heat spreader as in almost every other models. it is merely "touched" using thermal paste in between.
2. 3MB cache means the die is smaller, and the heat doesn't spread out as much as the E8xxx models.
Ah and another thing. The stock cooler is VERY small. It is half the height of a normal core 2 duo model.
I can suggest a very new motherboard. Gigabyte EP45-DS3R. Check it out.
And btw, you don't need much FSB with E7200. If the mobo works well up to FSB450, that's all you need because of the multiplier

The probs with higher FSB CPUs are that to OC your mobo should be able to tolerate higher FSBs with good voltage control + your RAMs will need a good speed.Coz even if you have a divider to make RAMs run slower,the data still got to hold back so overall performance will not increase.
Overclocking is good with P35-Ds3P.It would be around 24k in the retail.But with the P35 being the chipset on both I recommend MARS over P35 DS3P As I'm not sure on Value RAMs these days.And prolly you won't go much higher OC on your chips.So 5k cheap + lots of accessories is better in my PoV.Also there is an ASUS mobo of P35 around check it out @ EPSI.
