Hi All, I have a Toyota Belta which had more than 100,000 Km mileage. As people usually say, I think now problems with auto gears are surfacing when the mileage hits 100,000+.

Recently, the car started bumping a bit when the drive stick is shifted from 'R' to 'D' position. For example, after reversing the vehicle and then shift the gear to 'D' to start driving, vehicle sort of 'jumps' once, like the vehicle tripped over something. This doesn't happen when shifting between other positions (not even D to R) or when I switch between gears for the first time just after starting the vehicle.

I have consulted Toyota Lanka, and their approach is to replace the entire gear box. Since it's costly, I'm wondering whether this can be fixed by replacing only few particular parts.

Does anyone know a good reputable place for fixing automatic transmission problems? And a place where they don't rip our pockets. I just want a place that don't take me for a ride since I don't have much technical expertise.:confused:

Have some bad experience previously because some places just care about the money and charged a lot for various things which I don't think are necessary. :sorry:
