I just saw this silly comment, what do u mean u saw the same article, I wrote this my self, Ofcource there are hundreds of other articles doing the same thing on this modem, there's no Original inventor of this method (and I never said I invented it, this is just how I unlocked my modem and I simply Wrote the steps as Easy to understand Article,) its used for almost all the Unlocking procedures for any kind of phone or modem, I found the Memory Address of the Unlock code location from some Forum, I wrote this so Novice Users will understand it, So if u benefit from this article just say thanks and keep ur dumb comments to ur self.

I also had some issues but fixed them

you need to use qmat_399


I also was unable to find the values using the hex code at the first post due I updated the firmware before and didnt found a downgrade firmware.

if you have this problem try search this hex code at efs.bin

53 64

then the search for a 8 digit number, it is probably the unlock code

Anyway I also faced the situation where the QMAT tools quits within 10 minutes, the dumping process was damn slow,It could take like 2 hours to complete the dumping. Tried it 4,5 times but no luck, then I downloaded the latest version 4.23 from qmat website, It was worse LMAO, Didn't even start dumping,, so then again I fired up the 3.99 and after fiddling around 5-10 minutes it started to work flawlessly.
One thing I noticed was when I press Send CMD that time it showed me 4,5 lines of text in the status window, all the previous attempts it showed either 2,3 lines or nothing.. I think it's either a bug or something is wrong with Vista64..

P.S: This is for those who couldn't get the thing done within 10 minutes.. Try several times until you see 4,5 lines of text in the status window,unless it's not gonna work it seems..

bro i faced the same problem.. now overcame it.. do cancel the wizard at first.. that is most of us doesn't do.. it should work..

1. Run the Firmware update wizard wait till it detects the modem and then cancel the Wizard.

it took me about 1 min or somthing like that to unlock..

try it..

by the way the things we are spking before is only reguarding the plagiarism issue. and now its over.. and i should also admit that the reason which made me register to elakiri forum is also this thread..
