Ok this is the method to call cheap

In sri lanka you must have ADSL , connect a device called PAP2 (in sri lanka the price is 6000/= but its cheaper abroad if you send it here)
register it with a free voip provider (its for free)

lets say you have the above setup,

Select a local number where you live (most of the countries are there)
    http://www.sipbroker.com/sipbroker/action/pstnNumbers
dial the local number and dial <your sip number>

YOUR CALL COST WILL BE THE LOCAL CALL COST to that Number (Most of the time free UK/USA/Canada)

    SO YOU CAN TALK MORE

Ok non belivers, dial one of the numbers given in the link and see, Eg : London +44-20-7100-6747 ,
It should say "Welcome to SIP broker PSTN gateway, please dial the number after the beep .. "
if you have a SIP Number you may dial (SIP number means the number you get from the VOIP company (which is free)

This is method is good if you have your parents here in sri lanka , they dont have to logon to comptuer, they can use the normal telephone to answer the call, so tis convenient and it gives the phone experiance (some dont like the headsets u know)
