Why have you created 4 partitions for Song, Games, Music and Perso? You could have had one 100GB partition.

So you install programs to a separate partition? Any reason why you do so?

To keep it easy to find programmes rather than putting all of them in just 1 disk I guess :D Less messups n ya when it's come to formatting it's easy cos u wont loose eveything. U can backup

It'll be some wat easy to locate a software and easy to manage them.
The default windoes partition is full of wisndows related stuff.
So hard to manage our files with them.

Machan if I have another 250GB HD I partition both HD like this
30GB or more for Win VISTA , 50GB Apzz & Temp downloads ( because newest games and softwares need lots of space ) , 80GB for other stuff, and 70GB + 250GB for Multimedia and Other stuff.
I dont like lots of partitions. Because it makes very complicate.

Why do you want to manage the program files? They are programs ne? I don't open the C: partitions that often. I only open it as soon as I install Windows and to get the things setup. You use shortcuts after that no?

Wouldn't you be better off with 30GiB for Vista and 200GiB for all others?

It won't work because most programs copy files to %WinDir%\System32 and put several hundred entries in the registry. Some work, but they are only the small programs. Most games work however.

    Install them in %ProgramFiles%
Keep all your "data" files such as music, videos, pictures, documents, and even games (because they usually don't need reinstalling after a reformat) on a big partition. That's how I have them.

My system partition is 20GiB. This is for Windows, Programs and Users (I have modified names for those folders because some programs don't like having spaces in the folder names). I have all the data in the 278GiB partition. I have backup and downloads in the 160GB (149GiB) 2nd Hard Drive (1 partition on it).
