    Few things Machg

Increase the value of this "Covering 36 critical illness: 500,000" to Rs.15,00,000/-

Read the terms and conditions at least 10 times :D

    Examples
what will happen to other benefits if you are diagnosed with one of the above 36 illnesses?
When it comes to the Hospital cover, what are expenses they cover and what don't ? Do they cover tests before hospitalisation or only after?
What will happen to "Hospitalization benefit" after 10 years? Do they pay same Rs.3,500 per day?

    Read terms and conditions machg.

In General, this quotation seems reasonable :)

    This is from Softlogic, right?

This is excluding bonuses I think.. :nerd:

Yes, It must be excluding the maturity bonus. However, in 30 years Rs. 3.9 M
would worth something around 0.9 M or less due to inflation. The only gain is
for the insurance company which is due to the time value of money.

Hence, a health insurance should not be considered as an investment. It is there
only to mitigate the risk. (At least to make us comfort by thinking so.)

    Thanks Bro!

I will ask this question "what will happen to other benefits if you are diagnosed with one of the above 36 illnesses? "

When it comes to the Hospital cover, what are expenses they cover and what don't ? Do they cover tests before hospitalisation or only after?

    1. Hospital bill they cover including tests (after admitting)
    2. Also they cover 30 days back for diagnosing
    3. Vat for Room Charges, we have to pay

I think "Hospitalization benefit" will not be increased. It's just an additional thing to cover extra costs (for example, we can cover VAT charges). Will ask and see, thanks for those points.

When you pay for health insurance when the country provides free health care, you are ruining it for every one else.

What is the percentage of the monthly premium compared to your month income? If your premium is 11,000, you must be making at least 220,000 for a health insurance to make sense.

For example in last year, I have spent about €80 for health care (2 doctor visits plus some meds). This is one months premium in your plan.

Also take inflation to account. Sri Lanka is fucked up and has over 5% inflation, which means you will be getting peanuts if you are hospitalized. You will also pay a few peanuts, but at this point, you are paying a little for health Care that hasdoesnt meaningfully cover any thing. This is the sweet spot for insurance companies because you pay upfront for the risk the insurance company can pay off easily. So could you, if you had invested that money somewhere else.

No wonder Aarshikland citizens go for bank FDs and cooked up insurance plans.
