this is a response to a querry by 'sim'

request for adding me to hotmail, clearance level granted. as for your question on whether Garmin will work on car navigation systems, Ill need exact details such as make/model/whats the vehicle etc. you also need to check whether there is a GPS reciever inbuilt into the navigation system, GPS recievers dont come 'stock" with every navigation unit, its standard on high end "luxury" vehicles such as BMW and Mercs.

May I suggest, you speak to MacX, as I read somewhere, she knows about car navigation system and how to get Garmin working on them.

My area of expertise is Garmin for symbian phones.

hi, i'v been reading all your posting for almost 4-5 months now. you are great man! coz of you now i have realtime 100% working GPS in my Jeep and those POI's are lovely. i have a chinese 7" NAVI in my Jeep. with the cracked Garmin software and the SL map all works perfect thanks to your help. by the way have you got the New SL map with New roads such as Marine drive?

if its for me, thanks for the sentiments. ive been a bit busy with flood related work during the past 2 months so i havnt had the time to update anything.

but we are working on 'possible' flood prone roads which will come up as 'proximity alerts'... since the floods, i had to attend to other work so i havnt been doing my work on gps... but soon ill do a update...

ps - with regard to chinese gps in ur jeep, is it a dvd combo system which is sold by Advance Audio Waidya Rd Dehiwela ? coz i saw a Rs.30,000 dvd combo system on sale in Hit -Ad, went to check it out aswell....

can u post some pics of gps working in ur jeep ? curious. wanna see for myself...

btw, if any1 of u have the new Nokia N8, i can show u how to get garmin working on it... its not as straightforward as usual garmin installs for other nokia phones.

Application Error

Hi, i have YF GPS and i was using it for about 5months and suddenly i've got this error message when then gps booting, Not found Application Please install in from SD/MMC, then it goes to the windows ce6 desktop. How do it recover the GPS application or can i install it again ? If any body know please help me.

Check the Root folder of Garmin, There shud be 3 .img files ..

Go to map detail, and enable - "Small -Town"
detail to show up..
