help.. Power Surge On Hub Port error??

when connecting the ADSL modem to the usb port y do u get the error msg sayin "Power Surge On Hub Port"?? and the modem does nt get power?? i think its sm prob with da motherboard.. cos its a new one.. does anyone knw how to solve this??

your ADSL modem is pulling more power than the MB can give. So in order to save the MB, its stopping ADSL modem.
If that modem has external power supply, use that.
