Shortly after Hitler’s rise to power the Nazis began sweeping reforms Germanys medical system. Their official aim: to keep the German people healthy and fit to work for the Reich; their unofficial aim: to cleanse the population of known Arians and to sterilize or to kill the disabled. Hitler’s doctors designed and implanted these policies leading the way to genocide. By the end of the war those who had sworn to heal would stand accused of war crimes and mass murder.
