    Guys,
I have this monitor over an year and its developing horizontal stripes on it.
And it's getting too bright, I can't hardly see black on it anymore. Darkest is gray.

Is there anyone who know electronics, please help me on this.
    I want to know

    Is it repairable?

Or is this the time to throw it away without paying
large sum of money to repair guy.
I don't want to get fooled by repair guys anymore.

    Monitor is IBM P275 21"CRT.
this is how the stripes looks like.

Each time the monitor get refreshed, the distance in between the lines and the angle changes.

    Thanks for your concern.
    :)

Is it a problem with the monitor or the graphics card? (I don't know)

But if you tell the make of the card, hopefully will help someone who knows about this...

Anyway its Sapphire 9250, in case.

Each time the monitor get refreshed, the distance in between the lines and the angle changes.

Time to break the bank buddy ;)

That horizontal line is most probably a sign of your monitor is ending its life time!!
I'm expecting no worse than this.. :), Monitor is dying.

Stripes, I can live with that.,
spending 20k for a new one,, off limits..
    :)

anyway, this is how the stripes looks like,

I thought about it too.. but I'm not into experiments that much, specially
things with high voltages that can kill you.. ;)

Last thing I want to hear from a repair man is "your flyback is dying and its irreplaceable, and i need money for my time"
    like last time.

I'm going for second opinion before that happens.
    :)

The best thing is to do is.. if you can... go for a new monitor which comes a warranty than just patching up the problem.. preferably a LCD (consumes less power)

check with another monitor.Sometimes graphic card problem. But mostly times it would be monitor error.
Monitor can repair machan,..It same as TV technology . so go for TV repaire center
