WIFI speed and signal is very crutial in a crowded 2.4ghz environment simply because ISP sells us crapy routers to use for Internet. Dialog new routers is shit only you can use channel 6 to 11 compared to SLT. SLT wifi router you can switch from channel 1 to 13 but 12 to 13 do not work when you do scan. If you want to use channel 12 to 13 you should change country to Japan and channel 14 can only be used as Wifi B standard wifi which is not worth it, since N and G have better speeds. Remember to keep WIFI upstairs for better reception, WIFI signal always goes down not the other way around. Best places are Stair Cases open area, etc.People tell you to use channel 1 , 6, 11, 14 which do not clash. That is in theroritical environment, in a crowded one if your router supports multiple channels use channels that clash for bigger signal strength.For e.g make it 40mhz ask it to use channel 3+7 check it with "inssider" software can be downloaded using torrent for speed check and signal strength. Colombo is a overcrowded area using multiple WIFI every one is having wifi.If your neighbour is using standard channels 1,6,11 you can get better speed and strength by using clashing channels in the practical world.
