Guys jus dont post lies, Vista is 100 times better than XP. you are just shouting becoz u don't have enough hardware.
Vista is More
1. Faster
2. Much more reliable
3. More secure
4. More Industrial and business look. (XP looks cartoonish)
So don't shout without using vista properly. What exactly is your problem?
In my experience, XP is faster at bootup and hibernation/resuming, and some programs launch faster than Vista.
I have had uptimes of over 100hours easily many many times, and wasn't the case with XP. But I didn't really use XP to see how reliable it is.
Yes it is more secure, but I think you can use XP securely too, if you use your head a little bit.
The things I can't miss in XP if I ever give up Vista is,
1. Searching for apps from Startmenu
2. Windows Search (even with the indexing, it is damn fast!)
3. Superfetch, which gives some applications a real boost when loading
4. Hybrid sleep mode (Whenever power fails, I put the PC to sleep, since the UPS can hold the PC for more than an hour in sleep mode, and if power doesn't come back before the UPS battery fails, I can simply turn off the UPS. You will not be losing anything, because sleep = standby + hibernation. If you don't turn off the power, it is standby; if you turn off the button, it is hibernation)
5. It use all (99% at least!) your RAM so your RAM is not wasted. It is used to speed up anything that might be useful. Since XP x64 isn't the best OS in terms of app compatibility, Vista x64 has to be used since I have 4GB RAM.
6. Vista lets me use NCQ on my drives, so it can speed up certain scenarios.
What I hate about Vista
1. It takes too long to start (so much for super fast boot times MS promised us!)
2. Vista forgets folder view settings! (But I found a workaround and it works!)
3. Gaming performance a little lower than XP....etc. etc.
