Machan wat Jackson Anthony is intending to say is that Aba is the son of Chittharaja, not Deega Gamini's..... Not in a single place of the movie this is said, nor in the Mahavansa i guess.. but he tries to put this idea into the peoples' minds.... I think this has become a serious issue among the critics....

Based on our knowledge there is no Sinhala word similar to “Aba”. Why he has not put the name as “Panduaba”?
And the film flow it is not the exact story of Mahawansa. In the film, they are trying to indicate “Chittaraja” (One of Yakka Guards) as the real farther of “Pandukabaya”. In the middle of the film “Chittaraja” has captured & killed. Following Video clip is showing that part of the story with a comparison & it is same like “Jesus” has punished in the catholic story.

Then “Chittaraja” has born as a god of “Yakka” & later providing protection to the Prince. Also film is flowing with this indication of the relationship between “Pandukabaya” & “Chittaraja” similarly like the GOD & Jesus story (Farther & Son). That is the main theme of story in the film.
Also check the “Panduala Brahamanaya” in the story. He is like “Merlyn (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merlyn)” (Best known as the wizard featured in Arthurian legend) in the King Arthur legendary movies.

Additionally “Jackson Anthony” (Director of the film) is a catholic man (There are many good Catholics who are living as patriots & proud Sinhalese; they are our own brothers/sisters. But as most of us aware, Catholic Church & some of catholic businessmen(Not normal catholic people) are not in the side of Sinhalese; We have seen how they were acting in the case of Madu Church & the Presidential election 2005+many other examples…). There are good Catholics like “Jeyaraj Fernandopulle” who has respected "Sinhala Buddhist culture" & helped to the nation. But in the same time there are famous catholic Politicians, Businessmen, Beauty Queens, Actors and Singers who are doing the contracts of Catholic Church. Their agenda is totally against Sinhala Buddhist culture. But most of the Catholic people in the country are not following the path of “Catholic Church/Priests”. Even their “Chinthanaya” & living style are very much similar to “Sinhala Buddhists”. Also normal “Catholic People” are proud Sinhalease by their heart. But there are special cases that are against Sinhalese.
Additionally, I haven’t heard anything about the producers before the film released. How do they take such a big financial risk without even having previous experience in this business (Film Industry)?

Based on his above comments, he is a fan of globalization & wanted to be a film director of their so called global village. May be he is using a Catholic theme throughout this movie to get in to the Global theaters. That may the reason behind naming of the film as “Aba (Meaning DAD in Hebrew)”, without naming it as “Panduaba”. (May be he wanted a global name for the film)
