Hai friends, i have IBM Netvista A40 pc. i cant access to bios, can any one help me. error messages that im getting.

183 System security - Administrator password required

177 System security Asset control has benn violated.

i need to access to the BIOs, plz help me.

just remove the cmos battery & wait few seconds.then the bios will reset.then u can enter a new password

passwords are different from machine to machine machang.

Anyone can assign a password they like.

If you really want to access the bios, then turn off the computer and remove the casing.... then remove the battery (which is just like a big watch battery) then after about 5 - 10 minutes put it back on and boot the system...

Booting prob

Thnx a lot, actually i tried it before but it ddnt work, now i can access bios, but again PROB, my bios language is Japanies, any one know how to boot from CD. i knw i have to change the boot sequence, but language is the prob to me now.

IBM NetVista A40 (6842 - S3J) this is the model, Pretty old one but i'm still using it tho.

Hi,

you can not remove IBM CMOS password by removing the battery. sorry

no thinkpad and other models. you need to solder your cmos chip pins to a wire and connect it to another pc via serial cable to read the CMOS chip of IBM laptops(very very complicated procedure)

IBM Bios does not depends on CMOS Battery it has its own memory and works even without external power

Check google for tools and components to make the testpoint to remove IBM bios password

if you have jap language and you can not find the "boot from cd rom" just try to find where does it says CDROM in english

i do not think you can flash bios back to english. instead you may change the whole flash chip (again very complicate)

Did you read wot others saying. read wot i have posted. i am not 100% sure about his IBM model but most of thinkpads does not reset the CMOS by removing the battery.

Machang, the CMOS battery trick hasn't worked since the beginning of this century Nowadays the passwords are committed to the firmware, the battery is only there to regulate the internal clock.
