In reality IELTS is marked uniformly all over the world according to guidelines from the uni of Cambridge & there's hardly any difference in the score you get inspite of sitting for the exam from either the British Council of ACBT.But since local examiners are in charge of the speaking module in ACBT as opposed to the British council where foreigners come as examiners,I think the locals are more liberal in giving marks & helping out the candidates during the exam.....but this may bring about a difference of a maximum of may be 1/2 band....
I didn't do the course machan...I prepared by my own & for just a few hours I used the resource room in ACBT by paying 1000 Rs to practice writing some essays & getting them corrected....
ACBT does conduct courses & one day seminars targetting a particular exam date...so it's better if you could call them up directly & get the details you need....
you can download the test series books for free from the net...also I could suggest you some Blogs which give you adequate material & advice by IELTS lecturers which actually was very helpful for me in the exam....Don't buy the books from ACBT paying 3000 Rs as it is a big waste of money
The truth is, foreigners are better than locals in most cases. They always ignore the accent etc. They only look into whether you have the mastery of language.
Locals, in most cases, mark you low to show off their own knowledge. I know some of the lecturers at BC including Lesley the consultant. They are really good people. Better than most locals.

ACBT is ok as an exam centre. But the lecturers mostly teach you only in the first day. Then some lady lecturers just look on half asleep while the students are doing some activity.
BC lecturers are highly dedicated.
But ACBT fees are low I think. The best thing is, register at one of these places, and do self study if your English is ok.
