If a person like Karuna is allowed to be a MP - - - Why S.B Dissanayaka is still prevented from even competing in an election. What kind of law is this? Where is this country heading?

Most of the people are going off the topic. I’m not talking about the strategy behind the appointment of Karuna as a MP. Let’s think for a moment that the decision to appoint Karuna as a MP was correct. - - - What I’m trying to say here is, if Mr. President and his men could make a decision to appoint a former terrorist as a MP, why can’t they restore the civil rights of S.B. - - - -
The whole country is watching what’s going on. Not to mention the international observes.
Isn’t this abusing the presidential powers?

Yes. He can restore SB's civil rights if he wants. (I'm not too sure as to whether SB still hasn't got his civil rights though.)

Analysing the other bit... Who is the president in Sri Lanka who didn't abuse his/ her presidential powers other than D B Wijethunga mate?

Personally I see both good and bad in appointing a former LTTE member as an MP. And I don't see anything bad about appointing SB as even the wise president if MR wants
