The Viatnamese used guerilla warfare against the US to win the war. The US did the same against Britain during the colonial era again to win the war.
Guerilla warfare hasnt been beaten till date.

Sri Lanka has an army who fights by the rules. So i strongly doubt they can resist India.

but sl lanka army is not only an army of conventional warfare (in your words.." an army who fights by the rules)

army Special forces and commando units and even the STF are trained to fight also the unconventional type warefare...
As I can remeber, it was during the IPKF intervention (in 1987) govt and military high commands understood the importance of training our forces to fight Indians will be a necessary . (Mr Ravi Jayawardhana workd hard to develop this kind of unconvetional fighting units and another persone was Col Lafir, one of founders of modern SF s - sadly he dead during the Mulativu rescue ops in 1996)

you know that already we have Deep penetration unit (DPU) who infiltrate into the TIGER areas and cary out the guerilla type attacks

about 30 percent of our defence forces are virtually prepared to fight a guerilla war ; if it is a necessary

Oh i didnt know about all that. So is SF the highest grade? like above STF and all?

But is it still feasible to go against a country that big and rich comparatively. Now dont get me wrong i hate the crap outta India. N I mean v have had enough to deal with already. and our economy could have done waaay better if not for the war against the LTTE.

Violence in the world have hit insane heights. Should we add on to it? Isn't it time that we step back and think of more non violent approaches? I mean should v lose more Sri Lankan lives? hasnt our people sacrificed a lot already to teh country?

Think about it. The last thing we need right now is another war.

it is hidden secret, that Once India has requested the SL authorities to set up radio transmision station (but it has to be a covert electronic survilience base to monitor the ship/submarine movements and further targated to monitor the military transmisions etc) in some northern Island which belongs to sri lanka...
