1 - Transformer blast at Mt. Lavinia
LTTE terrorists with the intention of sabotaging the Independence Day celebrations this morning (February 4) exploded an electric transformer using an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) down the Wijesriwardana Mawatha in Mount Lavinia.
2 - Blast in Moratuwa
A minor explosion has occurred at Dandeniya Watte in Katubadda this afternoon, said the defence sources (February 4). According to the police sours, there have been no casualties reported due to this incident.
The explosion has taken place in a shrubbery land used to dump garbage behind the Mortuwa University. A search operation has been launched in the area.
3 - LTTE terrorists detonate roadside bomb targeting Army tractor - Buttala
One soldier has been killed and three suffered injuries in a cowardly claymore blast carried out by LTTE terrorists around 2.10, this afternoon (February 4). According to the available information the terrorists have targeted an Army tractor transporting ration to the soldiers.
The explosion has taken place close to the 45th mile post on the Buttala- Kataragama road. The injured have been rushed to the Kataragama hospital.
4 - A civilian bus attacked in Ethavatunuwawa
LTTE terrorists have detonated a roadside bomb targeting a civilian bus in the Ethavatunuwawa area short while ago (February 4). According to the available information, a bus plying from Anuradhapura to Jankapura has been targeted close to the "Kobbakaduwa Junction" around 4.p.m.

Nearly 10 civilians and 2 soldiers were feared dead and a further 17 injured due to the claymore attack targetting a passenger bus, on it way to Janakapura from Anuradhapura, at the Kobbekaduwa junction in Welioya a short while ago, the military confirmed.
