Purchased a lap top computer from ICON. Dealers for HP. Purchased a 3 year service waranty as well. Laptop crashed during normal use. Took it in to ICON. They then sent it to VCS (authorised HP service agent). They have identified it as a motherboard problem. They do not carry spares for this ! Have been waiting three weeks for the spare to arrive.
When asked why they do not have spares in stock answer is that the dealers bring models that are not imported by HP.
After I created a fuss ICON has given me a standby computer, and after forcing the issue managed to retrieve important data from the HD.
So guys be aware, when buying LTs check if agents carry parts. Most are dealers who sell items that are purchased outside SL and hand carried. They are still under waranty but the service agents may not carry the required parts.
