Problem here is that everyone, Parents, Teachers, Children have forgotten the true purpose of exams and grading.
Having All Ds and As (now its all As) for OLs and ALs has become a status symbol rather than a indication of how pro-efficient that student is in the given subject.
An OL student may not know the Pythagoras Theorem even though he has 10 As for OLs.

This is very true. Exam results aren't always a good indicator of brains. Nowadays people learn for the sake of exams, not for knowledge. (And you can't really blame them.)
