you can't buy the unlocked version for $199... it's far expensive... for $199 you get an iphone with a contract machan... so in case you have to use it with a different service provider, you've got to hack in to it... + I don't mind owning an iphone even if it doesn't make calls.... lol

they says that the iphone 2 unlocking system will be different from the iphone first generation and it will be much more harder!! cos of apples new tricks to avoid unlocking the iphone. still i got no clues about ihpone 2 unloking. but there will be unlockers in the near future.
