Fijian star Ryder arrives in Sri Lanka today

Fijian sevens rugby star William Ryder will arrive in Sri Lanka today along with the Fijian rugby sevens team to play in the Carlton SriLankan Sevens, a showpiece event in the island from November 27 to 29 at the Sugathadasa Stadium.
The Carlton Sevens has been classified as an Asian region Sevens series contested by Japan, Kazakhstan, Iran, Taiwan, Thailand, Jordan, China, Malaysia, Brunei, South Korea, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Apart from the Asian contest, an exhibition tournament is also scheduled to be played on Saturday and Sunday with six inviting teams from New Zealand, South Africa, Australia, Fiji, Western Samoa and Papua New Guinea taking part.
Three invited teams New Zealand legends, Papua New Guinea, and Fiji “DigiCel” arrive today. Fiji will field their real sevens national side for this tournament, but they will play under a different name, using their national team sponsors DigiCel.
Japan the Cup favorites of the Asian contest are also scheduled to arrive today.
