    It seems software engineers struggle to find new employment by age 35. Can I work as a software engineer at age 50+ without moving to management? What options are there with a computer science degree? :dull:

    This is true. This is the mentality of Sri Lankans. In other countries even you can retire as a software engineer. I am in management side and still would like to move back to technical side. But that is not a possibility as at now.

    The employer i am working for has an employee who is 60 years of age, and is a full stack engineer. And many others also. Not in SL btw
    unfortunately we are in Sri Lanka.. :(

    company එකට රිබ්බ කඩා ගෙන හරි වැඩ කරන්න පුළුවන් නම් :D(ගොඩක් company වලට ඇති ) ඇති
    හොද company එකකට නම් update in technology ඇති

    after 35 difficult to find a new job if you skills are not updated.
    ගොඩක් උන්ට වෙන්නෙ ප්‍රඩක්ට් බේස් කම්පැනි වල ඉන්නව අවුරුදු 5-10 , පරණ ටෙක්නොලොජීස් අතගගා . (ex : ifs / Virtusa Pega projects )

    එහෙම උනාම 35 දි විතර අලුත් එකකට යන්න ගිහාම කෙල වෙනව.

    ස්කිල්ස් අප්ඩේට් කරන ඉන්නව නං ඕන වෙලාවක මාරු වෙන්න පුළුවන් , අව්ලක් නෑ

    in my company there 2 45+ .net programmers and 1 55+ php developer in our us office.

    i sow 45+ asp developer work in programmes Lanka 5 years back. and there another IT company they have 45 + AS400 developers.

    age is not a matter

    Production side eka ekama honda oka nisa , age is not a problem for the Job and career growth is good when u gain more experience :yes::yes::yes:

    i may add asp.net web forms and sql to this list. as well as vb 6. those guys have no future what so ever. and they didn't realize until there is a requirement of new job. i strongly tell you guys to continuously look at the top jobs not for a job but to see latest technologies in use as well as be in stackoverflow every day to fill the gaps
