Machan, true the success rate can be 60-70%. The success rate means successful pregnancies not live births. The rate of live births from IVFs can be far less.
We also did IVF at Lanka Hospitals, Dr Madara is a great person with good knowledge and experience in latest technologies. However a a successful live birth rate depends on your luck. We had 24 live embryos (did in 2015) and spent around 1 millions because wife had some complexity and we could not do embryo transfer first time.

After 3 months, we did our first embryo transfer (spent around 260000/- for the process), it was not successful wife did not get pregnant.

Then after 6 moths, we did the second embryo transfer (spent around 260000) and it was successful, wife got pregnant and hospital included it as s successful pregnancy however after around 3 weeks a miscarriage happened. So no live birth.

We did the same process another two times using our frozen embryos.
(Note: when the frozen embryos are warmed for the IVF, some embryos may die so we lost around 4 embryos but fortunately we had 18 left.)

Above two embryo transplants were successful and wife got pregnant but miscarriages happened.

We spent over 2 millions for this. This is only for hospital and drugs, there were other expenses since we are not from Colombo, transport cost, accommodation in Colombo etc so overall we spent around 2.5 millions.

This is why I said this depends on luck. Some will have live births from their 1st attempt but some might not have even after 5 attempts.

We still have 4 embryos left but we gave up it because we did all the things we can (IVS was our last resort, we did lot of IUIs as well before this and if we include IUI cost as well, we have spent over 3 millions for this project)

Now we enjoy our life because we have freedom to anything at any time but some people say we have done very bad sin in our past life that is why we do not have kids even though we have tried very hard and did everything we can.

Then we met very good Buddhist monk he explained the situation in a different way as below,

Explained well and happy that you accept the fact that how nature works for each and everyone. Same thing same way has been explained to us sometime back by a monk tand its very hard to face the fact that not having a child is our faith.

We're married for more than 10 years and expecting a baby for last 8 years and we've almost all the doctors, VOG's islandwide and our last hope was to do an IVF. Unfortunately we couldn't afford to do such (We would have definitely do that if we had such money)

Finally we gave up all our hopes and stopped all treatments started doing good things (කුසල්) and then the miracle happens last April and my wife got pregnant. Baby was growing and doing very well for 02 & half months and then miscarriages without any reason.

We were told by VOG's that we could try again with the same path and now we have a new hope.

Its all about beveling your self and the good things you do. Keep hope bro good things will happen.

    තෙරුවණ් සරණයි....!!!!

Yes This is true story, Success Rate is only 20-30%,
If someone is claiming 60-70% please don't even try it.

I tried IVF with following doctors in Sri Lanka
Dr Helaruwan Pasan Kumara: LKR 1.5 Million (3 Attempts) : Not recommended at all and money greedy person
Dr Milhan Batcha: LKR 1 Million (1 Attempt) Highly recommended

In INDIA: SUDAH Hospital Coimbatore : It a crap and not recommended at all

In IVF you have to be more and more patient. Doctor can only do the transfer embryos only but rest is upto nature and your luck.

Normally you have to wait at least 14 days bed rest (without major works) to see the results. This is the most difficult time if you are in out of colombo, Need to reserve place near to the hospital,

Normally before IVF you have to get confirm that your wife actually need IVF or not, It may incur many blood tests, laparoscopic surgery etc. Don't go for IVF directly until it confirms that you are really need it, Because it is a waste of money. Moreover your wife womb should be ready 100% for pregnancy, Otherwise it will not success at all. Anyway Best wishes from me!

That's exactly what i said in my earlier post - a load of crap. These guys invent fertility rates by misinterpretations.
Also they will come with various acronyms for procedures for most of you get carried away. If you talk to world leading IVF specialists- they just laugh.
In Srilanka we are no way near advanced. New techniques are available where viability and the health of the embryo can be ascertained very early. It's not the doctor - the lab and the culture media too, counts very much.- of course as well as the age of the mother.
From the feedback here, it appears that these guys are minting money.

If everything fails why don't you consider adoption? It's a great thing to do so. I know of a couple who adopted an infant - they conceived five years later.
What happened later is a secondary issue - isn't adopting an orphan is a meritorious deed itself? Many in the western world do - while having two or three of their own kids.
