One of the best in Russia & 100 times better than any of our med schools.....It was opened in the 1800's way before any med school in SL
So these fools are scared of any competition with an institution like that....Otherwise if they are claiming to be the best in the world,Why should they worry about a little competition??

besides this degree will finish in 5 years whereas the shortest degree in srilanka from Colombo faculty itself drags on for more than 6 1/2 years

So they will lose out on the competition hands dosn

I'm a Indian Med graduate doing my intership in Bangalore,India & i'll do my maximum to gather support towards this cuase

We should open up atleast 1 such private college per province in Srilanka...

So keep crying...news flash for you...already Kasturba Medical College,Manipal is making plans to open uo the 2nd private Med school in Srilanka.....this is besides Oasis Hospital's attempt to start one on its own...

You fellows are screwed....

the North Colombo faculty was closed cos the government was afraid of another uprising in the country with a war raging in the north by LTTE & another war in the south carried out by the JVP at the same time...So they didn't want to risk another riot

but things are different now no more LTTE....JVP is reduced to a mere toothless tiger...Everyone saw how protests & riots were attacked by the police & dispelled by this government in the past few years...the same fate will fall on these lunatics if they try to attempt something like that again.....

So the government need not worry about a 1000 luntics just because they boycott lectures...all they can do is to shout & sign letters
