Lt. Col. Ranjith Perera that conspired to assassinate the President detained till July 30

(Lanka-e-News) Mount Lavinia additional magistrate Darshika Wimalasiri gave permission to detain Lt. Col. Ranjith Perera who is now in custody under suspicion of conspiring to assassinate President Mahinda Rajapakse with connivance of another suspect named Prabakaran.
The suspect is a resident of Army residences in Homagama Kandalanda and he is the commander of Rathmalana Army camp.
He is accused of attempting to take an LTTE cadre disguised as an Army official close to the President once in Diyathalawa and again in the Deyata Kirula exhibition premises.
