The applicable tax rates for
250cc bike is as follows.
If its not more than 3 years old.
Excise Levy - 90% or Rs.1,500/-
per cubic centimeter (cm3) of
the engine
If its more than 3 years old,
Excise Levy - 90% or
Rs.500,000/- per unit
Highest amount will be
considered as the payable tax.
Please note that if its
more than 3 years from the date
of first registration you have to
get the ICL (Import Control
License) from the Import
Controller.
Tax is calculated on the CIF
value, which includes the Cost/
FOB, Insurance and the Freight.
