Still it is to be seen what's in it for the Japanese. As much as I love our little Nihon friends they simply cannot roll on altruism alone. And 500 bn yn is too high a payback for JR’s good words.

Also, this is described in the press as an investment. That makes sense, all I’m after are the exact terms. But I will shut up now. I hope we'll get some form of preamble in the coming days.

I still think this is dodgy or at least false hope machan...and no amount of 'Japan is our true friend' reassurances will asuuage that. Maybe I have trust issues.
