Joomla! 3 Help (Urgent)

A friend has to do a little assignment using Joomla. Kinda e-commerce site. He asked me to help him. Although, I haven't done anything using Joomla before, I've some knowledge about PHP & related stuff. So yesterday night, I started Joomla 3. & I could add the shopping cart. The site should have things like a news feed & things usually you find at an e-commerce site, But, not very complicated stuff. I tried to use some Joomla! 3 extensions. But, couldn't get them to work. Errors at installation or after. If anyone have experience in Joomla, good extensions & how to use them correctly, please give any ideas.

Actually, I uninstalled all those extensions. But to tell you about the errors, I again installed GCalendar. It doesn't give any error. I published it with a position at Model Manager. But, it's not visible.

Again installed jevent. No installation errors. But, when I select Components >JEvents, I got the following errors.

You can turn off E_STRICT errors in your server.

Or put this in Joomla config.

Bro. Usually this error messages are displaying when we trying to install jEvent in Joomla 3.0 (and also in some few another extensions)
You can fix it in below mentioned way.

Open php.ini file in normal text editor...
(File Path : C:/xampp/php/php.ini)

then find this line..

E_ALL | E_STRICT

then change it from

E_ALL | E_STRICT

to

E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE & ~E_DEPRECATED

Then you have to restart apache server by using XAMPP Control Panel...

Thats all

Thanks, First I did disable error reporting as the other one has mentioned. It also worked. Then I did this after enabling error reporting. Now I don't see those errors. But still don'see the Calendar.

Did you install latest version of JEvents ? It is hard to say direct fix without looking at your site. I haven't used JEvents on Joomla 3.

How to show user items according to the data they have given/selected. Such as the area/country?. It it possible to do something like that in Joomla?.
