Why is America "west" and Asia is "east" if you believe the earth is round?

If you believe the earth is circular, then there is no "middle" to measure left or right, east or west from.

If you're in Australia, then the US would be "east" and Japan would be "west".

That's because you can't hide the truth forever. Deep down everybody knows earth is flat but they are too conditioned by "science".
