Concerning to Kaspersky Administration Kit (versions 5.0.1104 - 5.0.1152)
All client computers of the logical network are organized to administration groups for the convenience. You can add a client's computer to a group by one of the following methods:
- Automatically from a chosen domain
All computers of specific domain (or all domains) can be automatically included to a definite administration group. You can specify the group in the Network (in the domain representation) or its subgroups (specific domains) > Properties > the Computers tab.
Only computers added to the Network group (or its subgroups) can be included into the group after the parameter has been enabled. So if the specific group already contains other computers to be included automatically, delete them, and after the next network query they will be included to the defined administration group.
- Automatically from the Active Directory container or IP-subnetwork
All computers of a definite Active Directory container or IP-subnetwork can be automatically included to a specific administration group. To include a computer to the administration group properties > the Computers tab > check Automatically move computers from the Active Directory group or from the IP subnetwork and select the necessary container. Depending on the network parameters computers can be moved to an administration group at a different time (60 minutes maximum).
If in future new computer are detected in the selected Active Directory group or IP-address subnetwork they will be automatically moved to this administration group.
Remember, you should specify the unit that contains computers. Computers will not be moved from the selected unit subgroups!
You should also know, that after computers have been moved to an administration group they cannot be moved to another group until the Automatically move computers from the Active Directory group or from the IP subnetwork checkbox is unchecked.
- Manually by dragging a computer by the mouse from the Network group to the specific administration group.
- Using New workstations wizard.
- selecting from the list computers that should be added to the group. The list contains all computers of the Network group.
- by IP-address, specifying a definite IP-address, range of IP-addresses or computer name (NetBIOS-name)
- by file-list of IP-addresses. Each address in such TXT-format should be placed on a new line.
To launch
New workstation wizard, run the
New > Computer from the context menu of the group to which Clients should be added. The wizard's steps are the following:
1. welcome;
2. specify one of the methods of adding a computer:
- Automatically – select I want to add computers to a group using Windows Networking to add computer to the Network.
- Manually – to specify the IP-address (value of IP-addresses), computer name (NetBIOS-name) or IP-addresses file-list, select I want to define IP addresses for the computers in the group.
3. select computers to connect.
- If you have chosen to automatically add computers to a group using Windows Networking, the window has tree structure of the Network group. This structure is similar to the selected view of the Network container (domains, Active Directory or IP-subnetworks)
Check the computers that should be added to the group.
- If you choose to manually define IP addresses for the computers in the group, to create the list, click the Add button and enter the IP-address (range of IP-addresses) and/or NetBIOS-names of necessary computers or by clicking the Import button specify the path to the file-list.
After the computer has been added to the group you can view its
properties and
status.
REMEMBER, adding a computer
does not mean it is automatically connected to the Administration Server! To connect a client computer to the Server, install the Network Agent on it. This Network Agent will connect to the necessary Server.
