I have used Kubuntu 7.10. But I think it has KDE 3.5. Feel the SUSE start menu. It is totally different.
Anyway as I think Gnome is the best desktop environment to do administrative and high end jobs than KDE.

ya, it's easy handle those administrative and high end jobs with GNOME coz it is very userfriendly to do thos stuff.
actually machan both are not big differents to do such things..but the thing is "CHOISE".most people use GNOME coz,,it has rich graphics than KDE(not sure with KDE 4 ) and it's not like windows.....most of the time KDE is much more similer to the windows.....i think that's the reason....
    thanX for da info

Yep macho. For 95% important things which I done in Linux I did with using command line with out any desktop environment (Run level 3 or 1). But some ppl donot like to change the fashion. They want start button left bottom corner in every os.

    yep bro,
people dosen't choose although they have a huge amount of choises.....
most of the ppl don't use the opensource o/s saying that, games and softwear made for windows platform are not workin with thos o/s's.but actually they don't know about cedega, wine and stuff.....they just don't try it..they are trained by pirated companies...it dosen't need to abunden their current o/s and only use thease o/ss...i'm saying use the both...i know there some things we have to depend on windows....dat's becoz we don't know about thos o/ss very clearly......i think tha's OK. now i'm using XP,Vista and ubuntu...nw i feel the power of ubuntu...vista is a crap when it comparing to the ubuntu.... don't you think machan

I have fedora 8 (x86-64) DVD. I downloaded it. I can do anything I want with it. With beryl any graphical look can be obtained. Most cool feature in fedora is it is highly customizable. I use fedora and xp together.
Here is a screen shot. But not much look.
