because you find many more similar as well as more developed civilizations around the globe with much more reliable sources/evidence than a single chronicle written by a thero who had altered the history at certain points so as to make it look more prestigious

I have never said anything in this thread that insults our history or glorify america ..if you must know, I'm very anti american.
secondly you never cared or paid enough attention to (at least) my posts to continue a constructive argument. so now don't start with me. cos I simply won't care.

i can't see the rationale behind trying to compare dutugemunu with professor x. dutugemunu is a real person who lived in the past, a distinguished king of lanka while professor x is a fictional character developed by ppl. the deeds of king dutugemunu and his giants are a well known fable and the stuff which goes on are acceptable as real. i believe the giants are really men of our stature, soldiers like the ones who we revere today, who got a superhuman like rendering just coz of their famed deeds.
meanwhile superheroes are fictional creations who just exist to entertain us. if u wish to compare dutugemunu to a superhero like professor x, then in my opinion it's a big disgrace to our culture and country. dutugemunu is not a character just there for cheap entertainment, but a person we respect. so no way u are gonna compare him to a cheap shot fictional character like professor x. if u try to put both on the same level then u are a traitor to our culture coz u don't understand who was dutugemunu and the real meaning of his existance. shame
