You cant make telephone equipments in srilanka. Yet we don’t have that technology or the necessary funds to start such manufacturing process.
So lankabell importing those equipments and using them to provide telecommunication facilities to Srilankans. But the profit completely remain in Srilanka that’s what they talking about. In the other hand take Dialog Telekom which is fully owned subsidiary of Telecom Malaysia. So where money flows?
Even if we take SLT still it’s around 48% or something owned by NTT Japan so where money flows? Suntel, Tigo, hutch etc...

So as i think what Lankabell saying is they are a full srilankan owned company so no profit flow to other countries.

Just take Intel, Nissan or any other manufacturer or service provider. You can’t make all of your systems from scratch. Almost all those telecom providers use Cisco routers so that mean they owned by USA too? Even Suntel, Dialog, SLT all CDMA services use HUAWEI telephone equipments.

Remember LankaBell is a Telecom service provider NOT a telephone or terminal equipment manufacturer!
