Roshani Priddis

top24_RoshaniPriddis_Main.jpg

  • Favourite Aust Idol Season: First
  • Favourite Movie: Sister Act I - II
  • Favourite TV Show: Good News Week
  • Favourite Food: Thai
  • Favourite Colour : Purple
  • Eye Colour: Dark Brown
  • Your Height: Not even 5ft
  • Your current ringtone: Nokia generic ringtone

Favourite Album: Please don’t ask me to pick a favourite!
Favourite place to travel: SE Asia.
What star-sign are you: Leo
When did you first start to sing?: I didn’t really ‘start’ I was always singing.
What can’t you live without: Black coffee
Are you Superstitious: My psychic told me to pass on that Q
Who are your musical idols: Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, John Legend, India Arie
First job: KFC.
Please complete this sentence: ‘I first realised I wanted to become a professional singer when…’ Whoopi Goldberg in Sister Act II said “If you wake up in the morning and you can think of nothing else but singing, then you’re supposed to be a singer, girl!” And that’s exactly what I do – I rise and shine and sing!!!

What is your favourite song? Please tell us why you love that particular song.
‘Imagine’ by John Lennon. Musically and lyrically one of the most beautifully profound songs ever written. What a philosophy!!!

Which previous finalist do you find most inspiring and why?
Guy Sebastian; a complete artist in every sense. A singer, writer, performer, producer, vocal trainer. I respect that!

Describe your feelings at your first audition.
A mix of anxiety and excitement

Obviously, it’s important to have a strong voice, but what other aspects give a performer ‘star quality’? Please explain your answer.
I believe honesty in a performance is one of the most important things. ‘Star Quality’ means you have the ability to move people emotionally.

What would you call your debut single?
I would name it after the hit song that I hope to write

Why do you think Australian Idol is an important part of our local music industry?
Australia Idol provides the most exposure for artists in the industry. It creates for a singer a wide fan base.

Which artist (dead or alive) would you most like to perform a duet with and why?
Ray Charles; now that man is a legend!

What’s the best thing about being on Australian Idol?
The idea that I have the opportunity to be seen by the nation is the most amazing thing.

Who is your favourite judge and why?
I love them all equally for different reasons. Marcia, because she’s a performer and she understands us. Dicko, because he’s a music buff and he’s honest. Kyle, because of his obnoxious anecdotes.

Please complete this sentence: The one thing I want Australia to know about me is…
That I’m the sort of girl that enjoys beers, BBQ’s and good company or a sunny Sunday afternoon.

What’s the best piece of advice someone has given you?
All hopes – no expectations and have fun!

Wellsaid Sis, also, the fact that she needs the support of majority Aussie crowd would have made her say that & I understand that too..........if you cant say you are an Aussie, you cant be Ausie idol.............same happened in the case of Guy Sebastian & Anthony Calleja in the past, even Paulini, they didnt say loud that they are either Malaysian, Italian or else.............
This is not about SL National pride fellows, a lone girls quest to be Ausie Idol!!!

This is why I LOVE this damn country!

No variations what so ever! Your origin is a secondary factor!

Well.. If something like this happens in Sri Lanka I can see  "Ado.. Tho wena rataka ekek. uba kohomada top 25 enne?"

Congratz Sister. You're already a star.
