I respect to your thoughts, but practically this is not possible. isn't it? Gov. cannot effort to provide higher education for all of those who pass A/L.

For your information, those universities (you are calling them as "Private universities") are not actually private, they are semi-government, regulating under Ministry of Higher education. so, the director board of each institute (there are 11 institutes as i know) is bounded to follow regulations and directives of Ministry of higher education as well as University Grant Commission. Also most of them have authority to award degree and it is accepted as it awarded by Sri lankan government (just like other gov. universities).

but the problem is that the ones who choose to this Private MED college are really educated?actually guys i think this is not a problem of JVP.Because it is only a person who get the benefit of free education knows the importance of this matter.We should not sell our education for money.There are lot of students who obtained A2B,A1B2 but couldn't go to medical faculty.Only the richest ones can afford it(6 million).So that is really unfair.Don't think that this is a political problem.

of course, private university owners (actually board of directors and investors) doing a business, so, you may call them as "Mudalali", but you have to be realize that they cannot sell education as they wish. Thats why gov. regulation bodies exist. so, there is nothing happen until they are doing there duty.

You will cost 6M if you are going to foreign universities. I have no idea about Medical field, but as i know, if you are going to foreign universities for IT degree you will cost around 4-5Million for 4 years, but if you are following degree here, you will cost only Rs.400,000 - 500,000 for 4 years. I don't think the that it will exceed 1 Million for Medical degree here. from where you got this false info? any source available? or are you trying to mislead us?

Once again living on Mars. The proposed Medical degree by OASIS costs 6.5million rupees. There are other additional problems when it comes to private medical faculties. If some one interested, we can discuss them as well.

poor people came to universities by using their knowledge and brains in past because there was no tuition classes now things have changed. no poor man can educate his son/daughter for 800/= per month!! u think nataamis, coconut pluckers can spend that much per subject? ALs have 4 subjects(with english)
