laptop battery not charging after full discharge

My dell inspiron laptop got fully discharged,and now it is not charging. what can be the problem?

Happened to me too.,

Simply one Cell inside the battery has died.

Won't do any good unless you replace the whole thing... but not fully charging won't be any major issue.

Sign of a dying battery

on කරලා ටික වෙලාවක් තියල charger එක remove කරලා බලන්න.. off වෙනවනම් battery dead..
off උනේ නැත්නම්, device manager ගිහින් battery drivers remove කරල ආයේ scan for hardware changes. Auto install වෙයි.

Sounds silly, but it works.​

Have you tried pulling it out? If not, Pull your battery out and put it back. My Asus gives me that problem from time to time.
