i really think they will not tell u even if they are 100% sure it will cause a black hole that will destroy earth. this is the thing i hate about scientist and government... they cannot be trusted.

They cannot really gamble on something like black holes if they aren't sure exactly what their apparatuses are capable of producing on the other hand after spending US $ 9 billion if its merely to destroy the earth when the risk factors are too high.

according to CERN it is possible that black holes will be triggered but they are quite small and unstable therefore will not cause any problem.

Black holes usually don't come in small sizes, (in normal conditions). But this is an exceptional situation. The fact that the black holes that will jump out are unstable and would decay in few seconds is not experimentally proved ever before. It is just calculated. On this area of science we cannot be sure of what comes out in calculations. It can be different when practically experimented.

CERN have developed a mechanism to store antimatter safetly. Antimatter should not come in contact with anything. A single atom that would come in contact with an antimatter particle would blast with converting the whole mass in to energy (according to E = mc^2). This is much more powerful than a nuclear bomb. An antimatter particle dhould be kept in vaccum, and should not even touch the surface of the vessel. Therefor it is trapped between two electromagnets powered by a battery. If the battery goes off, that is the end of the world!

What is this? some kind of a power generator?

It is a very long circular tube surrounded by magnets. Protons have a positive electric charge (opposite to the negative charge of electrons). It is in the nucleus of any atom. A Proton is basically a hydrogen positive ion. Using the large magnets the hydrogen atoms are accelerated in to an extreamly high speed.

Finally the protons coming from opposite directions are smashed and broken down.

When talking about sub atomic particles there is no way of seeing them. It is absolutely impossible to directly observe any sub atomic particle.

The only (indirect) way of observing sub atomic particles is to analyze the phenomina that occurs of these sub atomic particles. When you play with these sub atomic particles, the interactions among them gives off various phenemina.

gravity-mass, space-time, electricity-magnetism, light (radiation) are few among those sub atomic phenomina. Almost always they exist as couples.

These scientists have given names to those phenomina and still thinks that those phenomina are actually particles inside those sub atomic particles!

i was telling my friend today who was telling methat he saw on the national geographic channel that the earth will be sucked into the black whole and thats how the world will end, i dont know whether to beleive that or not, and even if we get sucked into the hole, how does scientists know it will kill us, b.c they have not been inside the hole themselves to know wats gonna happen.

so, im totallly against this experiment, cuz they dont know for sure wat will happen, all they can go on is theory, and if their theory is wrong then the whole world will suffer. i dont think they should have been allowed to do something like this, we already have enough going on in this world with global warming and all, and i dont think they should be able to take the chance on messing something else up.... i dont get why someone wants so bad to know how the world got here (and i dont think they will ever know for sure) there are some things that were meant to be left alone, the world is here, we are living in it, dont matter how it got here, i think people should be focused on trying to make it better ratehr than trying to find out how it got here.

Hadron means Hydrogen +ve ions. But they are trying to break down it further.

This is worse than the nuclear bomb. Nuclear fission is only 2% efficient. This experiment will give a 100% efficient method to convert anything in to energy. Even those scientists have made mistakes while building this gient thingy. One more mistake while on an experiment can distroy the planet.

I would like to remind them that this earth is the only planet we have. If I could, I would move to another planet when they have started this crazy experiment.
