The Lawyer who appeared for the suspects of the murder of the two Buddhist monks has been assaulted near Nugegoda Courts today, Police said.
Sumith Silva, the lawyer was coming out from the courts premises when a group who sympathized with the killing of the monks started assaulting him, eyewitnesses said. His mobile phone also had been stolen.
The lawyer had made a complaint to the Police regarding the incident.
