100 BEST TENOR ARIAS is another release in EMI's highly successful 100 BEST series. This 6 CD set contains a collection of 100 tenor arias from opera, oratorio and sacred classics performed by some of the world's finest singers.
The programme covers arias from all the best-loved operas in the repertoire, from Handel's Serse and Semele through Mozart's Don Giovanni and Così fan tutte, Verdi's Rigoletto and Aida, Puccini's Tosca and Turandot to Gounod's Faust and Roméo et Juliette, and ends with extracts from Wagner's Ring.
Also included are famous arias from oratorios and sacred works such as Handel's Messiah, Rossini's Stabat Mater and Petite Messe solennelle, and Verdi's moving Requiem, as well as arias from all the most popular French operas, CD 3 includes items from the original French versions of works that are also widely known in their Italian translations, such as Rossini's Guillaume Tell and Donizetti's La Fille du régiment. Operetta is represented on CD 6 by two of the most popular arias by Franz Lehár: 18Dein ist mein ganzes Herz' (Das Land des Lächelns) and 18Gern hab' ich die Frau'n geküßt' (Paganini) as well as one by Johann Strauss II: 18Als flotter Geist...Ja, das alles auf Ehr'' (Der Zigeunerbaron). Spanish zarzuela is also included with two items on CD 4: 18Mi aldea' (Los gavilanes) by Guerrero and 18No puede ser' (La taberna del puerto) by Sorozábal.
The singers include the greatest names of the present and the past, headed by the iconic three tenors Placido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti and José Carreras. The stars of today are represented by singers such as Rolando Villazón, Roberto Alagna and Ian Bostridge, while Wagner is sung by Klaus König, Peter Seiffert, Ben Heppner and Siegfried Jerusalem among others. The older generation of singers include Nicolai Gedda, Alfredo Kraus, Giuseppe di Stefano, Carlo Bergonzi and Luigi Alva, as well as two of the most famous tenors of all time: Jussi Björling and Beniamino Gigli.

Ambitious and original, this project demonstrates the friendship shared between Angel and the 11 guitarists who are featured on this new album. Combining masterful song writing with her partner Denis Coulombe, Angel has written eleven songs imagining the guitarist who would put their own musical touch and expertise to each track. Angel Forrest offers a rich album with various sounds ranging from blues to rock to jazz.

Well known in the Canadian blues scene, Angel has been performed at major festivals in Canada and Europe (International Jazz Festival of Montreal, Tremblant Blues Festival, Blues sur Seine, Blues Festival of Edmunston, Victoriaville, of Trois-Rivières and Kuujjuaq). She also had the chance to share the stage with many artists including Jarvis Church Burton Cummings, Shawn Phillips, Thornetta Davis, Larry McCray, Eric Burdon and more.

In 1996, she began her musical career with her first album Secondhand Blues, which featured several blues classics. Forrest's work gained positive attention from critics as well as fans. It was her tribute show to the legendary Janis Joplin that brought Angel Forrest to the public. Her spot on tribute to Janis Joplin was a no-brainer amongst festival attendees and club's patrons, her unique signature on blues takes us a step beyond. She decided to immortalize her interpretations of the songs on an album called Angel Sings Janis Live. Then, she recorded her first album with her own compositions in English, Here For You, which has sold over 30,000 copies, followed by three other albums including her Christmas album called Wonderland, the award-winning Come Alive and Mother Tongue Blues, which won blues album of the year in Quebec and nominated for Recording of the Year at the 2014 Maple Blues Awards.

There is no question that Angel Forrest is one of the most powerful singers on the contemporary blues scene today. The strength of her performances, her distinctive voice and fiery personality has allowed her to conquer the hearts of thousands of fans around the world.

Ruby Turner, (born 22 June 1958), is a Jamaican RB and soul singer, songwriter, and actress.

In a music career spanning more than 30 years, Turner is best known for her albums and single releases in Europe and North America. She is also known for her work as a session backing vocalist, artists she has worked with include Bryan Ferry, UB40, Steel Pulse, Steve Winwood, Jools Holland, and Mick Jagger. She has written songs that have been covered by artists including Lulu, Yazz and Maxi Priest.

Turner achieved the rare feat, for a British singer, of reaching no. 1 on the US RB chart, with "It's Gonna Be Alright" in February 1990. Between 1986 and 1995, eight of her singles appeared in the UK Singles Chart with "I'd Rather Go Blind" being the most successful, reaching no. 24 in 1987. Turner performed at the Birmingham Heart Beat 86 concert, which featured George Harrison; and also sang on BBC Television's Jools' Annual Hootenanny, from 2007 to 2015 inclusive. She has also appeared as an actress on stage, film and television.

Ozomatli are an LA-based band who combine Latin and world music influences with funk and hip-hop. The group is also very politically conscious, promoting social change both in their music and through activism. They have gathered a large fan base due to their pure energy at live shows.

Chali 2na and Cut Chemist of Jurassic 5 were both originally members of Ozomatli. They have since left the group but both make guest appearances on Ozomatli's latest album, Street Signs. Since their departure Ozomatli have recruited rappers Justin "El Niño" Poree and Jabu and turntablist DJ Spinobi into their ranks.

Milli Vanilli was a German RB duo from Munich. The group was founded by Frank Farian in 1988 and consisted of Fab Morvan and Rob Pilatus. The group's debut album Girl You Know It's True achieved international success and earned them a Grammy Award for Best New Artist on 21 February 1990. Milli Vanilli became one of the most popular pop acts in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Their success quickly turned to infamy when Morvan, Pilatus and their agent Sergio Vendero confessed that Morvan and Pilatus did not actually sing any of the vocals heard on the record. The pair decided to return the Grammy awards and asked they be given to the real vocalists. The group recorded a comeback album in 1998, but Rob Pilatus died before the album was released.
