Indiscriminate firing by LTTE killed a soldier and injured a civilian at KALAVIYANKADU in Jaffna, around 13.30 p.m today (14th). The soldiers were on a route picket at the time of firing, but the troops did not retaliate in order to avoid civilian casualties.
Meanwhile, a home guard was assassinated by the LTTE at MAMADUWA in Vavunia around 6.00 a.m today (14th).
Another soldier was shot and injured by LTTE at MUTTUR in Trincomalee around 11.50 a.m today (14th).
A LTTE terrorist was also killed due to army retaliation, following a hand grenade attack at ELUTHUMADDUVAL in Jaffna around 8.20 a.m.
