First of all stop thinking what others think about you.
IF You were succesful in doing business why stop it?? start it again while doing your job (or find a less stressful job and start a business) & my advice is to stop doing CIMA for awhile...at least till things settle.

and never get disheartned, be couragous , help people , and lead a good life according to ur religion...u'l never fail
gud luck

    Hi Guys

I was reading elakiri posts since 2011 and today only I have got registered. I like this website and I have seen most of the members put threads about some of there problems and get an opinion from others. Personally I feel its worthwhile to get opinion from people who are more the less same to eachother.

So Guys I need an advise

I am a 25 years old from small age I had to face financial problems due to my father faced a huge loss in his business (Garments). Due to that I had to sacrifice my university entrance which was my child hood dream.

I started working when I was at 18 and did all sought of things where I can earn money without a prestige issue. seriously some months I have made 100k.

Then I started doing CIMA and joined a private firm As a Accounts Executive. I am still on the same firm and getting 50k for a month. Now this job is a mess for me. fully stressed out from 8 am to 8 pm. I still couldn't finish CIMA have to do 2 more stage. Now i am in that curse for 4 Years. (Now i started hating my work and CIMA I fell I am on wrong path)

During the last 7 years I renovated my house, Got Married. for both those things I have taken loans (Personal). Which was manageable with my salary during that time.

Last Year suddenly my father got sicked and hospitalized few times during the year and half and I had to spent a lot. Now I dont have any savings or Investments. and I have ended up with a loan of million. And I am sure this time also I am going to fail on Cima exams.

Now I dont know what to do I am facing lot of difficulties. Its like I am back to the same old stage where I started.

To get out of it I am thinking to do something but I cant do it as I have got an educated fellow tag from relatives. and I am tired of hearing those words "Are you mad you have a good job why do you want to do business" "its Risky".

If I want to do I can start my fathers business back again and I am confident I can succeed on that. for that for the time being I have to leave my job. I have to stop Cima for awhile.

Guys You will understand my situ Please advise me. I will value each of your advise. it might change my mindset.

Imagine going home Your wife says need to buy a Anchor pkt tomorrow and you have Rs.800 only in your pocket. Salary is after another 3 Days.

if you resign from your job and start the old business, at the moment it has a higher risk to get bankrupt with your situation. Even if you have the confidence, garment business is not easy. Lot of people in SL are doing it.

machan i only read the first two pages of this thread, my advise is you speak your boss or superior and say that you are not satisfied with the job you do now.

Also apply for other companies as well, they will take you for your experience. If they require a formal qualifications such as a degree or CIMA or something, you will have to show your experience and talk your way out of it!

Starting the garment business is a risk but i would say to take it cuz we all have to take risks and sometimes they work out well or sometimes they don't!

So im suggesting first try to get a better paying and a job u r happy with or resign and give ur 100% focus to your business.

Whatever u do, hope u have discussed this situation with your wife! if you haven't. then i suggest that you do! :):nerd:

Brother In this case I dont think I can get the similar salary in a new job as i am not qualified.
there is a company called R.R.Donnelly they are recruiting ppl who are doing cima (qualified/non- qualified) where you can earn up to 120000 (basic 70000) which is a BPO. the thing is you have to work hard all 7 days.work start at 5 AM - 4PM and you might have to travel abroad like india,USA,singapore.good job but the experience might not as valued as your current field. if you like send them a CV they might call you for an interview. name the post as "Research Analyst" here is the email :- [email protected]

    Hi Guys

Machan I don't know if you are serious in the post (just look at other hoaxes on Elakiri).

What you have left is not the problem machan. Everyone faces financial problems these days and it don't have to be a dying case.

Get yourself straight machan. To be honest, 50k or 100k / month is somewhat OK but it's not close the the top region of a scale machan. Don't limit yourself to any earning. CIMA, IMHO is a risky path machan. There's a lot of competition. Don't risk your current job, and don't be desperate to loan anymore money. If things are OK, try to squeeze your life a little but.

I once hit my all time low account balance to Rs. 700 machan. My head was burning. My monthly expenses are less than 40k, and I was earning 170k a month. I haven't saved a lot. That was my mistake.

I realized I have to stay calm and plan something with a calm mind. If you are clever enough, you can win the world bro.

Try to save AT LEAST 3 months of your ALL expenses in a savings account. Don't touch that money unless you absolutely need to. Don't spend on bullshit. That 3 month savings is a rule for myself now, and I save most of my monthly income (paid twice a week, now back to 170k/month) to savings and I'm ok to take risks.
    Good luck machan.

PS: I have some connections with the CIMA Sri Lanka top places machan. PM me if you need anything regarding CIMA.
