Somawansa challenges Mahinda to a debate with Fonseka

JVP leader Somawansa Amarasingha, speaking at a press briefing a short while ago involving all the political parties supporting General Sarath Fonseka, challenged both Fonseka and President Mahinda Rajapaksa to have a live television debate on various topics including the war.
General Sarath Fonseka, meanwhile, who was present at the briefing gave his thumbs up when he was asked by Mr. Amarasingha if he was prepared to face President Rajapaksa in a live televised debate.

Mahinda can only talk with a teleprompter in front of him. Last time too he shirked a debate with Ranil.
Even during 2005 contest , Ranil asked for a live debate but MR didnt respond. I feel this is the best way to settle matters as it is being done in most of the developed countries.Let 02 top contenders face each other and debate rather than allowing supporters to fight each other. I hope MR will have courage to face it this time at least.
What former general is going to talk about or debate about? Guns and ammunitions or how to give orders to soldiers and subordinates. Somawansa Amarasinghe is trying to send a "man of guns" to debate a "man of words". It is not a fair match at all. Instead why not "RANIL+SOMAWANSA+MANO+MANGALA+HAKEEM+GENERAL" jointly face Mahinda Rajapaksa. That seems to be a good debate. Otherwise, no body will pay attention to the debate.
