Here are some simple steps to make any addon work with Firefox
How to disable the addon compatibility check on Firefox 7 Final and above? Simply follow these simple steps below:
1. Type about:config into the address bar then hit Enter
2. Click on “I’ll be careful, I promise!” button.
3. Right Click on any blank space than select New -> Boolean
4. A new boolean value popup will appear, enter extensions.checkCompatibility.7.0.1 as the preference name.
5. In the Boolean value, select false and then click on OK button.
6. NOW RESTART FIREFOX
Your addons would work perfectly now..
This could be a solution for those who do not update your Firefox because of the addon compatibility issue.
Please note that some of super older add-on might make your Firefox crash or have stability issue. But for addon that works on Firefox 4 and Firefox 5 should now work like a charm. So now there is no reasons for you to not update your Mozilla Firefox browser now..
When firefox release a new version [firefox 8.x.x] simply create a new boolean with the new version number, Like this: extensions.checkCompatibility.8.x.x
